It is one-third of the Midlands Gateway and is easily accessible from any corner of this Fair Isle. Aside from the buzzing atmosphere, this quaint town flaunts some cultural gems. The Mullingar Arts Centre is a must see.

We depart from your home early and travel to Holyhead for our ferry crossing to Dublin. Upon arrival re-join your coach and continue our journey across Ireland to Mullingar with comfort stops en route.
This morning we travel the short distance into Mullingar, where you have some free time to explore. Why not visit Mullingar Cathedral, relatively new, this Cathedral began construction in 1936 and was consecrated in 1949. It blends Gothic and Romanesque styles to create Cathedrals stunning edifice. With many stained-glass windows, you can enjoy the artistry and history in rich ambience.
We then visit the Irish National Stud & Gardens. It is difficult to define what has made the Irish National Stud a birthplace of Champions. With over 300 foals each year taking their first steps at the Irish National Stud, to stallions who have won some of the most prestigious races in the world.
We have an included guided tour, and time for you to explore at leisure before we depart and return to our hotel.
Please note that the stud farm and gardens are outdoor experiences with some walking involved. Please dress appropriately.
Today we visit the Kilbeggan Distillery, where we will enjoy a full immersive experience at Irelands oldest licensed distillery. The Kilbeggan Distilling Company has seen its share of trials and triumphs. Founded in 1757, the distillery spent the next 200 years making a whiskey beloved the world over. So, when tough times ground its gears to a halt, the town came together to save the whiskey that built the town. It wasnt quick or easy, but they persevered. Today, every bottle produced stands as proof that the spirit of Kilbeggan never wavered.
Today we make our way to Cong the filming location for John Ford's 1952 Oscar-winning film, The Quiet Man, featuring John Wayne, Maureen O'Hara and Barry Fitzgerald. Much of the film was filmed on the grounds of Ashford Castle. The town and castle area remain little changed since 1952.
We visit The Quiet Man Museum. It is an exact replica of the White OMorn cottage in the movie. The four poster bed, the tables and chairs which Mary Kate cherished, the thatched roof, emerald green half door and white washed front combine to charm all
We then explore Galway, a vibrant bohemian city situated along the Wild Atlantic Way.
Uncover rich medieval history as you meander the colourful, cobbled streets of the Latin Quarter. Or maybe Settle in by a glowing turf fire for craic agus ceol in a traditional pub.
After a wonderful day of sightseeing, we return to the hotel with time to relax before dinner.
After breakfast we begin our journey back to Dublin and our ferry crossing to Holyhead and home.
