Join us for a fabulous break to the Irish county of Wexford. Wander through the cobbled streets of Kilkenny, enjoy the beautiful floral display of Altamont Gardens and learn how the famed Waterford Crystal is made.
Waterford Crystal Factory Tour | Kilkenny | Altamont Gardens | Seaside Port of Tramore
We depart from your home and travel to Fishguard for our ferry crossing to Rosslare. We make the short journey to Enniscorthy arriving late afternoon you will have time to relax before dinner this evening.
This morning we travel west to the medieval town of Kilkenny where you enjoy some free time to explore at leisure. The town is dominated by Kilkenny Castle built in 1195 and has numerous well-preserved Norman churches and monasteries. There are several craft shops selling pottery, paintings, knitwear, and jewellery perfect for a souvenir of your trip! If you like beer check out Smithwicks - still brewing beer using 18th century methods. After lunch, we travel to Altamont Gardens. Laid out in the design of famous Irish gardener William Robinson, this enchanting garden is home to a colourful collection of plants.
Today is free for you to enjoy our base of Enniscorthy. Our hotel location gives easy access to the towns attractions. Perhaps visit The National 1798 Rebellion Centre, see Enniscorthy Castle or enjoy some retail therapy browsing among the towns shops.
After a leisurely breakfast, we journey to Irelands oldest city - Waterford. The city is famous for crystal glass manufacturing, and we enjoy a guided tour of House of Waterford Crystal. We will be shown every aspect of the crystal manufacturing process from molten crystal being blown into shape through to skilled craftsman engraving designs. After our visit we will have some free time to look around before we travel the short distance to the seaside port of Tramore. The afternoon is free for you to explore the port at leisure. Perhaps visit the Japanese Gardens or simply enjoy a stroll along the beachfront.
After breakfast this morning we leave our hotel and travel along the coast to Dublin for our ferry crossing to Holyhead and home.

Set in the picturesque town of Enniscorthy, the Riverside Park Hotel offers peace and serenity with wonderful views of the River Slaney. DAY ONE
