Rode's Grade II listed park and gardens are amongst the finest in Cheshire.
Today we explore the historic Georgian house of Rode Hall and its wonderful summer gardens.
With new plantings, the gardens are constantly evolving, and the 10-acre site set amongst sheep-grazed parkland provides plenty of opportunity for innovation. The walled Kitchen Garden built in the early eighteenth-century, remains an important part of the Rode estate. Today the Kitchen Garden is a highlight for many of Rodes visitors who see it at its best and most colourful from mid-June. Worked almost entirely without the use of chemicals, the plot is divided into four sections that are filled with vegetables, including traditional and exotic varieties, and fruit bushes.
