From our peaceful base in Flueli-Ranft, explore elegant Lucerne, admire the turquoise waters and mountain landscapes around Brienz and Interlaken, and experience the dramatic valleys of the Bernese Oberland. (10) DAY ONE - Dover to Calais and Saint-Avold

We depart early and travel to Dover for our crossing to Calais. We continue through France to Saint-Avold for dinner and our overnight stay.

 

(11) DAY TWO - Journey to Switzerland

After breakfast we continue through France and into Switzerland, enjoying changing countryside and mountain views along the way. We arrive in the peaceful village of Flueli-Ranft for our five-night stay at the historic Hotel Paxmontana.

 

(12) DAY THREE - Lucerne

Today we visit beautiful Lucerne, set beside its sparkling lake and surrounded by mountains. Enjoy free time to explore the picturesque Old Town, cross the famous wooden Chapel Bridge, browse the shops or relax at one of the city's welcoming cafes.

 

(13) DAY FOUR - Brienz and Interlaken

Our scenic excursion takes us across the Brunig Pass to the lakeside village of Brienz, known for its traditional woodcarving and attractive waterfront. We continue to Interlaken, beautifully positioned between Lakes Thun and Brienz, with time to explore at leisure and admire views towards the surrounding peaks.

 

(14) DAY FIVE - Flueli-Ranft and Lake Sarnen

Enjoy a more leisurely day in and around our welcoming Alpine village. Explore historic Flueli-Ranft, relax at the hotel or take in the peaceful scenery overlooking the Sarner Valley. Details of any optional local excursion will be advised nearer departure.

 

(15) DAY SIX - Bernese Oberland

Today we discover more of the magnificent Bernese Oberland. Travel through dramatic Alpine scenery to one of the region's picture-postcard valleys, with time to enjoy the mountain surroundings and explore at leisure. Optional mountain railways or cable cars are payable locally and subject to operation.

 

(16) DAY SEVEN - Return to Saint-Avold

We bid farewell to Switzerland and retrace our journey into France, arriving in Saint-Avold for dinner and our final overnight stay.

 

(17) DAY EIGHT - Calais to Dover and Home

After breakfast we travel to Calais for our crossing to Dover. We then continue our journey home.
