We depart from your home and travel to Devon arriving late afternoon you will have time to enjoy tea/coffee and mince pies on arrival.
Our first night is Christmas Eve where we will celebrate with mulled wine in the Gallery Lounge before our dinner and evening of entertainment.
Today is your chance to explore Torquay, as we have a day at leisure; known as the Queen of the English Riviera Torquay is one of Englands best loved resorts. Explore the harbour, enjoy a stroll along the promenade or shopping retail therapy in the town centre, or you could just relax in and around the hotel and watch the world go by, the choice is yours.
We have a traditional Christmas Dinner this evening with entertainment to follow.
Today we have a beautiful scenic tour, following the stunning South Devon coast all the way to the historic city of Exeter.
As we leave Torquay, look out for the elegant Victorian terraces, swaying palm trees, and lovely views over the marina and the grounds of Torre Abbey. Torquays coastline has long been known as the English Riviera, and youll soon see why.
Our first stop today is the bustling town of Newton Abbot, where it happens to be Market Day. This traditional market has been at the heart of the community for centuries. As you stroll around, youll discover a wonderful mix of colour and character fresh local produce, handmade crafts, flowers, gifts, clothing, and plenty of friendly local traders. Whether you visit often or its your first time, Market Day always has something new to enjoy.
Leaving Newton Abbot, we follow a beautifully scenic route through South Devon, passing rolling countryside, tranquil river views, and glimpses of the striking coastline. Soon we arrive in Exeter, where youll have plenty of free time to relax and enjoy the city at your leisure.
We return to our hotel, where youll have time to relax before dinner this evening.
After breakfast, we make our way to Dartmouth, one of the true jewels of South Devon a beautiful harbour town known for its colourful buildings, steep hills, and rich maritime history. As we arrive, enjoy the stunning views across the River Dart, where boats and ferries glide across the water and the impressive Royal Naval College stands proudly above the town.
Youll have time to explore the historic town centre, with its narrow lanes filled with boutique shops, art galleries, local crafts, and charming cafés. If youd like to discover a little more of the areas history, why not visit Dartmouth Castle? This 15th-century fortress guards the mouth of the river and offers wonderful views along with a pleasant scenic walk.
We then continue our journey to Kingsbridge, a friendly market town set at the head of a beautiful estuary. Its a perfect place for gentle strolling, browsing, and taking in the peaceful scenery. Wander along Fore Street and the surrounding lanes, where youll find independent shops, local boutiques, art galleries, and delightful gift stores all adding to Kingsbridges welcoming charm.
We then make our way back to the hotel where there is festive treats, late afternoon, and dinner followed by entertainment this evening. Youll see in the new year with a glass of sparkling wine, and dance the night away.
This morning a farewell breakfast will be served we then depart our hotel for our journey home with comfort stops enroute.

Majestically overlooking Meadfoot Beach and the sea, set on the headland, the Headland Hotel was originally built for the Romanoffs, the Russian Royal Family. All bedrooms are en suite and have television, hairdryer and tea/coffee making facilities. The hotel has a lift.
