Are you ready to be transported behind the scenes of The Seven Kingdoms and find out how one of the most iconic fantasy novel series was transformed for the screen to become one of the best-loved television shows on the planet?
Our adventure to Northern Ireland discovers the brand-new Game of Thrones Studio Tour, and filming locations.
Game of Thrones Studio Tour | Giants Causeway | Belfast | Dublin | Filming Locations Tour Titanic Belfast
We depart from your home and travel to our ferry in Holyhead to sail to Dublin. Continuing our journey to Belfast we arrive at our hotel where we have tea and coffee on our arrival.
This morning we spend some time in Belfast city centre to explore. Take the chance to find out more about the citys role in the Industrial Revolution.
We visit Titanic Belfast, an exhibition voted one of the best visitor attractions in the capital and is an excellent way to find out more about the RMS Titanic including her construction, launch and, of course, her infamous maiden voyage.
This morning we have a scenic drive along the Antrim Coast Road for our Game of Thrones filming locations tour. Driving past the quarry that provided the backdrop for Castle Black and The Wall, we make our way to our first stop; the seaside town of Carnlough (or the free city of Braavos to GOT fans). Be sure to grab a photo of the harbour steps where Arya Stark was attacked by The Waif!
We then head for the Linen Mill Studios for our Games of Thrones Studio Tour. Youll be able to recall the places we visited yesterday and see how they were transformed for the screen. Take a peek behind the scenes and find out some of the secrets that helped bring the Game of Thrones script to the screen. During our self-guided visit, we take a closer look at everything from the costumes and sets to the props and incredible visual effects that helped create some of the most iconic moments in this phenomenal television series.
This morning we travel to the Giants Causeway, no trip to Northern Ireland would be complete without this stop. Marvel at the enormous basalt columns that were produced by volcanic eruptions some sixty million years ago!
After our visit we visit Portaneevy; the shoreline that served as the coast of Dorne in season five and Dark Hedges, a striking avenue of beech trees which provided the backdrop for a section of the Kingsroad.
After breakfast, this morning we leave our hotel and make our journey back to Dublin where we are able to spend a couple of hours before our ferry crossing, and onto home.
