A discovery tour into the history and treasures of Northumbria. This tour covers a variety of splendid scenery, contrasting countryside, historic towns, rugged coastlines, rolling hills and quaint northern villages. The ancient Kingdom of Northumbria offers some of the most striking unspoilt beauty in England.

DAY ONE – Arrival

We depart from your home and travel to Alnwick, arriving at our hotel late afternoon, where tea and coffee will be served on arrival, you will then have time to relax before dinner this evening.

 

DAY TWO – Holy Island and Bamburgh

Today’s excursion takes us across the causeway to Holy Island. Later we return making a stop in Bamburgh, with its mighty castle on the beach.  After dinner tonight there will be bingo or a quiz as our entertainment.

 

Please Note: The crossing of the causeway to Holy Island is governed by tide times. It may be necessary to amend this excursion.

 

DAY THREE – Seahouses and Alnwick

This morning after a leisurely breakfast, we journey along the Northumberland coast making our first stop in the pretty harbour of Seahouses. After enjoying some free time here, we make our way back to Alnwick. Enjoy some free time exploring the traditional market town. Before dinner tonight, we enjoy a Gin Tasting.

 

DAY FOUR – Departure

After breakfast we leave our hotel and make our journey home with comfort stops en route.

The hotel is probably best known for its Olympic Dining Suite which features the magnificent panelling, mirrors and stained-glass windows from the Titanic’s sister ship.
