DAY ONE – Arrival

We depart from your home and travel to Bury St Edmunds and our hotel, you will have time to relax before dinner this evening.

 

DAY TWO – Kentwell Hall Out-of-Hours Private Guided Tour and Lavenham

Today we enjoy a private guided tour of Kentwell Hall.  You will be welcomed to the stunning 500-year-old family home Kentwell Hall by the current owners who eagerly await your visit to tell their unique story.

One of the finest Tudor houses in England, Kentwell is a secluded, romantic estate in stunning Suffolk parkland, punctuated by the unexpected and complete with a moat, maze, working dairy, bakery, and brewhouse, where carpets of snowdrops surprise visitors and delicate pink roses adorn the walls.

After our visit we will travel the short distance to Lavenham, where we complete our exploration of grandeur and enjoy some Harry Potter magic at quaint Lavenham Village, Britain's best-preserved medieval village.

 

DAY THREE – Norwich and St George’s Distillery Tour & Tasting

This morning we head for Norwich where you have some time this morning to browse and enjoy the oldest and largest outdoor market in the country. We then make our way for your tour and tasting of St George’s, giving you a chance to see perfection at work from skilled master craftsmen. Notable as the first dedicated to single malt whisky in 100 years, using locally sourced Norfolk barley and water running from under the distillery itself, hear England’s oldest distillery’s 600-year-strong ambition to produce the very finest single malt. Discover the angel's share secret, magically maturing Norfolk whisky so that a five-year-old in Norfolk is about the same level as a 10-year-old in Scotland.

 

DAY FOUR – Ickworth House & Gardens

Soak up the ‘Mediterranean in Suffolk’ today, at Italian-inspired country-house showpiece, Ickworth House, home to generations of the once scandalous Earl of Bristol and Hervey family, since 1829. Learn secrets of the past, see vast treasure collections in galleries stocked to impress, riches collected from afar, and stroll around 1800 grounds of classical Italy with an individual English touch.

 

DAY FIVE – Departure

After breakfast we leave our hotel and make our journey home with comfort stops en route.
