Discover the character of Chichester, explore magnificent Arundel Castle, spend time in historic Winchester and wander through the impressive Sir Harold Hillier Gardens. We also enjoy time in maritime Portsmouth, where the holiday ends on a high with a delicious afternoon tea at the iconic Spinnaker Tower.

(13) DAY ONE – Arrival

We depart from your home and travel south to Portsmouth, arriving at the Royal Maritime Hotel during the afternoon for our four-night stay. Dinner is served at the hotel this evening.

 

(14) DAY TWO – Chichester and Arundel Castle

This morning we travel to Chichester, with time to discover its magnificent cathedral, Roman walls and historic city centre. This afternoon we continue to Arundel Castle, seat of the Dukes of Norfolk, where centuries of history combine with impressive architecture and beautiful gardens.

 

(15) DAY THREE – Winchester and Sir Harold Hillier Gardens

Today we visit historic Winchester, where there is time to explore the city at leisure, perhaps visiting the cathedral, browsing the shops or discovering one of the museums. This afternoon we continue to Ampfield and the wonderful Sir Harold Hillier Gardens, home to an extensive collection of trees, shrubs and beautiful planting.

 

(16) DAY FOUR – Maritime Portsmouth and Spinnaker Tower Afternoon Tea

We spend today in maritime Portsmouth, with time to explore at leisure. You may wish to discover the Historic Dockyard, wander through the Old Town or enjoy the shops and restaurants at Gunwharf Quays. This afternoon we head to the iconic 170-metre Spinnaker Tower, where we enjoy a delicious high afternoon tea accompanied by spectacular panoramic views across the harbour.

 

(17) DAY FIVE – Departure

After breakfast this morning we depart our hotel and begin our journey home, with comfort stops en route.
