We depart from your home and travel south to Stratford-upon-Avon. Firstly, we visit Anne Hathaway's Cottage, the family home of Anne Hathaway, William Shakespeares wife-to-be. It is here that Anne was born and raised and where the young Shakespeare would have visited her during the early part of their relationship. Built more than 500 years ago and extended over the years, much of the original survives. See original furniture including the Hathaway bed and uncover five centuries of stories of the family who lived here for 13 generations. Wander through acres of beautiful cottage gardens and orchards and explore the sculpture trail inspired by Shakespeares plays.
We then continue our day with a relaxing 45-minute river cruise with an engaging guide who will bring Shakespeares Stratford to life. We then make our way to the hotel with time to relax before dinner this evening.
This morning we visit Shakespeare's Birthplace, where you can discover the fascinating story of England's greatest playwright. Afterwards, enjoy free time to explore the charming streets, independent shops and riverside of Stratford-upon-Avon before we round off our day with a delightful Afternoon Tea at The Arden Hotel.
