DAY ONE – Arrival

We depart from your home and travel to Devon arriving late afternoon you will have time to relax before dinner this evening.

 

DAY TWO – Torquay

Today you have the day at leisure to enjoy the delights of Torquay.

 

DAY THREE – Devon Coastal Tour, Exeter and Exmouth

This morning our tour begins with a Devon coastal tour. Following the shore road, we pass through Teignmouth and Dawlish and continue north to the Cathedral city of Exeter. We take a break here and have time to explore the City before we continue along the Exe estuary to the pleasant resort of Exmouth. Here we have time for lunch before we enjoy a cruise along the River Exe discovering the history, beauty and wildlife of the river.

 

DAY FOUR – Newton Abbot and South Devon Railway

This morning we drive into Newton Abbot where it is market day. Enjoy a browse around the stalls and a look at the town where you can obtain lunch. Leaving Newton Abbot, we have a ride to Buckfastleigh where we join the South Devon Railway. Originally a Great Western Railway branch line, the line hugs the Dart estuary on the journey to Totnes. On arrival, you can stretch your legs before the train returns to Buckfastleigh. Here, the railway offers an extensive museum, workshops, gift shop and book shop to explore as well as the award-winning Refreshment Rooms for snacks, cakes, and Devon cream teas. After, we return to the coach to make our way back to the hotel.

 

DAY FIVE – Kingsbridge and Beautiful South Hams

Today we head into the South Hams region of Devon. First, we take a break in Kingsbridge, the ‘capital’ of South Devon, with the chance to look around this pleasant town. Moving on we head for delightful Dartmouth with its many naval connections, including the Royal Naval College. We have lunchtime here and you can enjoy a lovely stroll along the busy harbour, or just sit and watch the boats. Late afternoon we will return to the hotel.

 

DAY SIX - Departure

After breakfast we leave our hotel and make our journey home with comfort stops en route.
