We depart from your home and travel to Holyhead and join our ferry to Dublin. First on arriaval in Ireland we visit Strokestown Park House and Famine Museum. Explore the parallel lives of Strokestown Parks aristocratic landlords and their tenants during the Great Irish Famine at the state-of-the-art National Famine Museum. The National Park also protects other important habitats and species including alpine heath, upland grassland, heath, lakes and river catchments. Greenland white-fronted geese, golden plover, red grouse and otters are just some of the important faunas found within the National Park.
At the Visitor Centre we learn about habitats and species that are protected here. An interesting visit, with much to find out about.
