DAY ONE - Arrival

We depart from your home and travel to Billington, time to relax at the hotel before dinner this evening.

 

DAY TWO – Gawthorpe Hall Gardens and Riley Green Canal Cruise

We begin our day with a visit to Gawthorpe Hall Gardens – a 17^th century house with a terraced garden and woodland garden with rhododendrons and azaleas. Later, we make our way to Riley Green Marina to board our narrowboat for a cruise along the Leeds Liverpool Canal.

 

Our 2-hour canal cruise passes through beautiful countryside where you can take in Lancashire’s nature and wildlife whilst enjoying an afternoon tea. A lovely relaxing afternoon!

 

DAY THREE – Bury and Bury Market

Today, we travel to Bury where we can browse the world famous Bury Market. Often voted market of the year in Britain’s favourite market, you’ll find over 350 stalls to visit! Afterwards, explore Bury at leisure and enjoy lunch.

 

Afterwards, we return to our hotel where we enjoy Cream Tea and time to relax before dinner this evening.

 

DAY FOUR – Oswaldtwistle Mills and Guided Tour of Samlesbury Hall

Today begins with a guided tour of the magnificent Samlesbury Hall, a half-timbered medieval house built in 1325 in the traditional black and white. Afterwards, we enjoy a scenic journey on our way to the famous Oswaldtwistle Mills shopping village.

 

The iconic former weaving mill has over 100 retailers under one roof, as well as restaurants, an ice cream parlour, a craft centre, and even a Textile and Heritage Museum.

 

DAY FIVE - Departure

This morning after breakfast we depart our hotel for our homeward journey with comfort stops en route.
