Each year, Longleat’s spectacular Festival of Light transforms the park into a captivating, illuminated winter wonderland. With a different theme each year, expect astonishing characters, magnificent scenery, and stunning structures. As well as the impressive, illuminated lanterns, the ground floor of Longleat House will be decorated for Christmas and there will be attractions in the Main Square, and of course the amazing animals will be waiting to pinch your mince pies!

DAY ONE – Stratford-upon-Avon and Arrival

We depart from your home and travel south visiting beautiful Stratford-upon-Avon, where we spend some time before we continue our journey to our hotel.

 

DAY TWO - Wells and Longleat & The Festival of Light

Today we head for the delightful city of Wells with its tiny Cathedral. We have time to explore the town and obtain lunch before we leave for Longleat House and the stunning Festival of Light. Europe’s largest ever display of Chinese lanterns will transform Longleat into a glowing winter wonderland, with thousands of new lanterns. Don’t miss the stunning Chinese Dragon Boat and the Terracotta Army features too. We return to the hotel in time for dinner.

 

While you're here, indulge in the beauty of the scenic Grounds and Gardens, and behold the breathtaking view of the Castle from a distance.

Don't forget to visit the gift shop, offering a wide range of 'Downton Abbey' memorabilia, and relish in delectable homemade dishes from our Castle kitchens at the charming tearoom.

DAY THREE – Bath

A World Heritage City, Bath is beautiful, elegant, and full of spectacular architecture and world class attractions. There are many ways to enjoy your day, explore the Royal Crescent, Pulteney Bridge, the Roman Baths and the magnificent Abbey, or perhaps hop on the sightseeing tour bus to discover everything that Bath has to offer. (Admissions not included.)

 

We then make our way back to the hotel with time to relax before dinner this evening.

 

DAY FOUR -  Cheltenham and Departure

After breakfast this morning we leave our hotel and travel north to Cheltenham, we spend a little time here, before continuing our journey home.
