We depart from your home and travel to Southampton, for our ferry crossing to the Isle of Wight. On arrival at the hotel, you will enjoy a Bucks Fizz reception.
Today we have a visit to Osborne House. Located in East Cowes Osborne House is the former seaside retreat of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert, built between 1845 and 1851 as a private family home away from London. Now managed by English Heritage, it offers you a fascinating glimpse into royal life, with opulent state rooms, Queen Victorias private apartments, and highlights such as the richly decorated Durbar Room. Beyond the house, the extensive grounds feature beautifully maintained terrace and walled gardens with stunning views across the Solent, look out for the Swiss Cottage in the grounds.
This morning we will head out to the Isle of Wight Steam Railway, and enjoy a nostalgic journey through the islands countryside, combining heritage travel with a relaxed and enjoyable steam train experience. The beautifully preserved railway takes you back in time as you travel in restored Victorian and Edwardian carriages, pulled by traditional steam locomotives along a scenic five-mile line through unspoilt rural landscapes. After our wonderful day well return to our hotel, with time to relax before dinner this evening.
Today we enjoy a scenic tour so we can experience some of the Isle of Wights coastal scenery, traditional villages, and rural landscapes. Heading along the coast we will visit classic seaside towns and villages and make stops at viewpoints with sweeping views before arriving at Godshill, famous for its thatched cottages and quaint tea rooms, providing an ideal stop. From here, we continue through the rolling countryside and onward to the historic village of Brading, before looping back along the eastern side of the island with views over Sandown Bay. Returning to our hotel with time to relax before dinner this evening.
After breakfast this morning we depart our hotel and make our way to the ferry crossing and continue our journey home, with comfort stops en route.
