DAY ONE – Arrival

We depart from your home and travel south for our ferry crossing to the Isle of Wight, after disembarking we continue to our hotel, time to settle in before dinner.

 

DAY TWO – Ryde and Osborne House

This morning we travel the short distance to Osborne House, Queen Victoria’s palace by the sea. We visit state rooms as well as the beautiful gardens and Queen Victoria’s beach, where there is a bathing machine in which the Queen used to get undressed! Tying in with Queen Victoria and the 2017 “Victoria and Abdul”, a trail has been specially created, Victoria’s Island Trail, to celebrate the island’s royal connections, with Osborne House being a key location on the trail. There are acres of grounds and gardens to relax in, horse and carriage rides to take and a delightful restaurant and café. Don’t forget to wear comfortable shoes!  We return back to Ryde with free time to explore at your own pace.

 

DAY THREE – Godshill and Shanklin

Today we head to Godshill, one of the most photographed and prettiest villages on the Island, there are plenty of cafes, pubs, tearooms, and beautiful sights to keep you entertained, maybe visit the model village during our stop as well. We then travel to Shanklin for a free time to explore the resort, before returning to our hotel.

 

DAY FOUR – Solent Cruise and Cowes

This morning we travel to Cowes, best known as the world’s premier yachting centre and the island’s main port with a natural harbour. We then enjoy a 1hour boat trip on the Solent Cruises, there are viewing decks forward and aft with a large open area on the top deck to enjoy the sights.   After our cruise, we have time to meander around the streets of Cowes or stroll along the Parade and Esplanade; perhaps enjoy lunch at one of the many cafes. Whatever you decide to do, Cowes is a delightful place to visit.

 

DAY FIVE – Departure

After breakfast we leave our hotel and make our way to our ferry crossing and home with comfort stops en route.
