The popular Gelert Explorer from Caernarfon to Beddgelert takes you on a scenic journey filled with variety as it crosses the foothills of Snowdon...
This full day-out begins at our modern award-winning station at Caernarfon; a sharp contrast with the imposing castle guarding the adjacent harbour.
The train meanders from the coast into the mountains with views across to Anglesey and then towards Yr Wyddfa/Snowdon itself. After passing through Rhyd Ddu station, the train crosses the summit of the line before snaking down through the forest to Beddgelert, the pretty riverside village nestling amongst the hills.
You will have time to the village of Beddgelert, walk beside the river and learn more about the legend of Gelert, the faithful hound of Prince Llewellyn. Before we rejoin the train return to Caernarfon.
Enjoy the wonderful experience and stunning views.
