We depart from your home and travel to Fort William, arriving late afternoon to a very warm welcome.
A scenic journey takes us along Loch Lochy, then past the Five Sisters of Kintail to the much-photographed Eilean Donan Castle. We continue to Kyle of Lochalsh and then across to the Isle of Skye with a short tour of the enchanting island, visiting the villages of Portree, famed for its colourful cottages, and Broadford, nestled below Ben na Calliach.
Today we travel along the banks of Loch Ness - the second largest loch in the Scottish Highlands, 23 miles long. It is of course best known for alleged sightings of the Loch Ness Monster, affectionately known as Nessie. We make our way to Inverness, where we will visit the Inverness Museum and Art Gallery where you will find out about the development of the Highlands. Some time in Inverness then before our journey back to our hotel.
Today we take a scenic drive around Lock Linnhe, first travelling south, and stopping at Glencoe, where we will visit the Glencoe visitor centre, before continuing our travels, and head north on the other side of the Loch, travelling to Glenfinnan, and the Glenfinnan Viaduct - a true marvel of Victorian engineering with a rich history and a touch of Harry Potter magic! The spectacular views across the valley are a perfect backdrop for the bridge, which is a photographers dream for capturing the Jacobite Steam Train. Well then travel along the banks of Loch Eilt, where there is a stunning photo spot at Eilean Na Moine, before continuing our journey round Loch Ailort and follow the road back to Loch Linnhe, and to our hotel.
