DAY ONE – Hereford and Arrival

We depart from your home and make our way first to Hereford, where we have time to explore, before continuing to our hotel, arriving with time to relax before dinner this evening.

DAY TWO – Devizes, Stonehenge and Bath

This morning after breakfast we’ll first visit Devizes, before we make our way to unlock the mysteries of Stonehenge, one of the world’s most famous prehistoric monuments. Wander around the world heritage site and be captivated by the unique rock formation. Situated on Salisbury Plain, 40-ton rocks standalone since their arrival 5,000 years ago.

An abundance of theories surrounds Stonehenge, from a religious temple to an astronomical clock and even a Bronze Age burial ground. Decide for yourself whilst discovering the history of this mysterious monument. You’ll be able to get close to the stones but not touch them. You’ll also be able to explore its new world-class visitor centre that houses museum-quality exhibits, a shop, and a café.

This afternoon we’ll continue our day with a visit to Bath, standing proudly on the slopes of the River Avon, Bath was the first city in England to be designated a UNESCO World Heritage site. Admire the gorgeous 15th-century Bath Abbey, the stunning Georgian architecture, and the romantic Pulteney Bridge.

We’ll then return to our hotel in time for dinner this evening.

DAY THREE – Glastonbury Abbey and Weston-Super-Mare

This morning we visit Glastonbury Abbey, with its unique sense of place combining history, spirit and legend, unparalleled by any other abbey in England. Since Medieval times, the abbey has held legendary status as the earliest Christian foundation in Britain linked to Joseph of Arimathea and the burial place of King Arthur. Today it is a tranquil setting where you can discover the stories and explore the 36 acres of grounds. You can also visit the Yard here you’ll find the Café, gifts and souvenirs and St. Patrick’s Chapel.

This afternoon we move onto a visit to Weston-Super-Mare, before travelling back to our hotel through the Mendip Hills, arriving with time to relax before dinner this evening.

DAY FOUR – Cotswolds Tour and Sudeley Castle & Gardens

This morning, we make our way through the Cotswolds, where we enjoy a scenic drive before arriving at Stow-on-the-Wold, a bustling market town with a rich wool-trading history. This town was the setting of the last battle of the English Civil War (1646) and was a source of inspiration for J.R.R. Tolkien when creating Lord of the Rings. Stroll the broad marketplace and winding lanes to discover the charming character of this Cotswold hub.

We’ll then visit Sudeley Castle and discover 1,000 years of English royalty, romance, ruin, and revival.

Sudeley was once a royal residence, closely associated with some of the most famous English monarchs, including Edward IV, Richard III, Henry VIII, Lady Jane Grey, Katherine Parr, Elizabeth I and Charles I.

Today you can explore the original 15th century west wing of the Castle and its fascinating exhibition rooms, before entering the east wing, which is home to beautiful rooms, still used by the family today.

We’ll then return to our hotel for dinner this evening.

DAY FIVE – Shrewsbury and Departure
