Cambridge | Imperial War Museum Duxford | Guided tour of The National Stud, Newmarket | Cambridge University Botanic Garden
We depart from your home and travel to Cambridge with comfort stops en route, arriving late afternoon at the hotel with time to relax before dinner this evening.
The day out begins with a drive to Newmarket home of horseracing. Here we visit The National Stud which opened its gates to the public for the first time in the mid-1970s. To this day the Stud remains the only commercial stud farm in the UK allowing individuals the chance to see behind the scenes of a working thoroughbred stud farm.
Today we start with a visit to the Imperial War Museum in Duxford. From the early days of flight, through to the dramatic days of the Second World War and the technological advances of the Cold War, IWM Duxford has played a central role in some of the most significant periods of 20th-century history. See Spitfires take to the skies from the airfield where they first flew, get up close to gigantic aircraft and walk in the footsteps of the men and women who served here.
Inside every hangar and exhibition, youll discover iconic aircraft, see historic objects from our collections and uncover hundreds of personal stories of the many lives impacted by conflict.
We then enjoy some free time in Duxford before making our way back to the hotel with time to relax before dinner this evening.
This morning, we journey to the wonderful city of Cambridge where we visit Cambridge University Botanic Garden. Explore, enjoy and be enchanted as seasons change at Cambridge University Botanic Garden.
This afternoon, enjoy the wonderful city of Cambridge with plenty of time for you to explore at your own pace. We travel back to the hotel in time to enjoy a relaxing drink before dinner.
