St Agnes | St Ives | Falmouth | Newquay | Eden Project | Mevagissey | Fowey
We depart from your home and travel south to St Agnes and our lovely hotel the Rosemundy.
Our visit today takes us to the stunning Eden Project. You can experience the sights, smells and scale of the rainforests in the Rainforest Biome the worlds largest greenhouse - and discover the tropical plants that are used to produce everyday products.
We then return to St Agnes where you have time to relax before dinner this evening.
Today we visit St Ives, the dazzling jewel in Cornwall's crown, a picturesque fishing harbour and seaside town. Wander through the maze of narrow cobbled streets lined with independent shops, fisherman's cottages, award-winning eateries, and galleries.
Today we spend the day in Falmouth, shaped and influenced by its strong connection to the sea. Combining a fascinating maritime heritage and modern creativity, we also include a visit to Pendennis Point, to see the views.
No trip to Cornwall would be complete without a visit to Newquay. Newquays historic harbour is where Newquay got its name formerly known as Towan Blystra the town got a new harbour, or quay and the name came with it!
Newquay harbour has a long history; from supporting the Cornish tin mining industry to the heyday of the commercial pilchard fishing era. Small scale commercial fishing still exists but this mostly provides the local restaurants and hotels.
Later we return to our hotel with plenty of time to relax this afternoon or explore St Agnes further.
Explore the narrow streets and terraced houses that lead down to the centre of old Mevagissey where the distinctive twin harbour provides a safe haven for the many fishing boats that land their daily catch. Well then visit Fowey, browse some of the individual shops and galleries in the area for a different shopping experience with gifts, souvenirs and home décor that you simply will not find on a normal high street.
This morning after breakfast we depart Cornwall and make our journey home with comfort stops en route.
