A special festive weekend break visiting the Canterbury Christmas markets in their stunning location overlooked by the city’s historic Cathedral. We explore festively decorated Leeds Castle home to Lords and Ladies for over 1000 years. As darkness descends on the castle, we enjoy a magical Christmas light trail in the ground with enchanting illuminations and Christmas music.

DAY ONE – Arrival

We depart from your selected pick-up point and travel to Kent arriving late afternoon, you will enjoy tea/coffee and biscuits on arrival, and time to relax before dinner this evening.

 

DAY TWO – Canterbury and Leeds Castle

After breakfast this morning we visit the historic city of Canterbury where we have free time at leisure to browse the Christmas Markets.  Traders line the streets of Whitefriars, St Georges Street and Rose Lanes displaying festive food, drinks, and crafts. Festively dressed entertainers are on hand to add to the atmosphere.

 

This afternoon we visit Leeds Castle all decorated for the festive season. Set on two islands on the River Len, it has been home to generations of lords and ladies for over 1000 years. We are transported through around 900 years of the castle’s history in a sumptuous mix of period architecture, impressive interiors, and family treasures. As darkness descends a spectacular light trail lights up the night sky in the grounds of the castle. Discover sparkling chandeliers delicately suspended in the trees, a laser garden filled with tiny beams of light, a path of twinkling mirrored hearts and the Feast of Light - immersive glowing strings filled with all the colours of the rainbow. Indulge in a seasonal snack or drink from hand-picked street food vendors along the way.

 

DAY THREE – Departure

After breakfast this morning we leave our hotel and make our journey home with comfort stops en route.
