Discover the very best of central Scotland on this varied five-day holiday, combining remarkable engineering, beautiful loch scenery and time in two of Scotland's most historic cities. From a journey on the Falkirk Wheel to a relaxing cruise on Loch Lomond, with visits to Stirling, Callander and Edinburgh, there is plenty to enjoy.

(30) DAY ONE - Arrival

We depart from your home and travel north to Scotland, with comfort stops along the way. We arrive at the King Robert Hotel in Stirling with time to settle in before dinner this evening.

 

(31) DAY TWO - Falkirk Wheel and Stirling

This morning we visit the remarkable Falkirk Wheel and enjoy the Original Tour. This unique rotating boat lift links the Forth & Clyde and Union Canals and is one of Scotland's great feats of modern engineering.

 

We then continue to historic Stirling, where there is free time to explore at your own pace. Perhaps browse the city centre, enjoy lunch or take in views towards Stirling Castle before returning to our hotel.

 

(1) DAY THREE - Loch Lomond Cruise and Callander

Today we travel into the beautiful Loch Lomond & The Trossachs area. From Luss we enjoy a 90-minute circular cruise on Loch Lomond, accompanied by live and informative commentary from the skipper. Afterwards, we continue to the attractive town of Callander for free time before returning to Stirling.

 

(2) DAY FOUR - Edinburgh

Today we make our way to Scotland's capital, Edinburgh, for time at leisure. Explore the historic Old Town and Royal Mile, browse the shops or simply enjoy the atmosphere of this remarkable city before returning to our hotel later in the afternoon.

 

(3) DAY FIVE - Departure

After breakfast we bid farewell to Scotland and begin our journey home, making suitable comfort stops along the way.
