DAY ONE – Arrival

We depart from your home and travel to Tiverton arriving late afternoon you will have time to relax before dinner this evening.

 

DAY TWO – Tiverton and Horse Drawn Canal Cruise

This morning we have some free time in Tiverton, set on the banks of the Grand Western Canal, the town is full of history and heritage. After a pleasant morning, we then spend a relaxing afternoon enjoying a peaceful 90-minute horse-drawn barge cruise along the scenic Grand Western Canal. As we cruise serenely along the water in our fully equipped, traditionally painted barge, we learn about the barge, the beautiful heavy horses, and the riverside wildlife. There is a licensed bar onboard, as well as tea/coffee and snacks.  Please note the barge is a cash only service. Onboard toilet facilities.

 

DAY THREE – The West Somerset Railway and Minehead

Today we enjoy the West Somerset Railway – Britain’s longest steam railway, we join at Bishops Lydeard for a scenic ride through the Quantock Hills to the resort of Minehead. After free time in Minehead, and the opportunity to purchase some refreshments, we enjoy a scenic drive back to the hotel.

 

DAY FOUR – Quince Honey Farm

Today we visit a working honey farm, a family run working honey farm based in South Molton first established in 1949, now it’s in third generation of beekeepers. Wander around the Nectar Gardens, see millions of bees up close, visit the Honey Factory and look behind the scenes at the honey production areas. The unique hexagonal themed Nectar Gardens display thousands of bee friendly plants. The farm also includes a shop, large restaurant and views of the gardens and bees., with exhibitions to enjoy, it’s a wonder experience for all.

 

Some time afterward to enjoy the market town nearby before we return to our hotel.

 

DAY FIVE – Departure

After breakfast this morning we leave our hotel and make our journey home with comfort stops en route.
