DAY ONE – Arrival

We depart from your home and travel to Devon arriving late afternoon you will have time to relax before dinner this evening.

 

DAY TWO – Buckfast Abbey and Torquay

This morning we will visit Buckfast Abbey, located at the centre of a picturesque valley on the edge of Dartmoor National Park, Buckfast Abbey is home to a community of Roman Catholic Benedictine Monks, who live their lives of prayer, work and study according to the ancient rule of St Benedict.  You will see The Monastic Way Exhibition is an immersive presentation of Benedictine monastic life, from its origins to the present day.

 

We then return to Torquay where you have some time at leisure before we return to our hotel with time to relax before dinner this evening.

 

DAY THREE – Sidmouth and Donkey Sanctuary

Always a favourite this morning we travel to Sidmouth, with its red sandstone cliff which dates to the Triassic period.  Why not take a stroll along Millennium Walkway which stretches the length of the beach or relax in the stylish café’s and watch the world go by.

We’ll then visit the Sidmouth Donkey Sanctuary, where hundreds of rescue donkey’s call home. The resident donkeys love to meet new people and their unique characters and stories are all ready to be discovered. You can also take refreshment in the café and perhaps enjoy the gift shop.

We’ll then return to our hotel mid-afternoon when you have time to relax before dinner this evening.

 

DAY FOUR – Totnes and Dartmouth

First, we visit the market town of Totnes with its variety of shops and historic buildings. We continue to delightful Dartmouth. The River Dart is busy with boats of all shapes and sizes, and the town hosts the Royal Naval College. We have time for lunch here before we return to the hotel late afternoon.

 

DAY FIVE – Departure

After breakfast this morning we leave our hotel and make our journey home with comfort stops en route.
