HOLIDAY HIGHLIGHTS

Llandudno    |    Puffin Island Cruise   |   Beaumaris   |   Caernarfon   |   Conwy   |   Conwy Castle   |   Tweedmill Shopping Outlet   |   Betws y Coed   |   Bodnant Gardens   |   Plas Newydd House & Garden

DAY ONE – Betws y Coed and Arrival

We depart from your home and travel to Llandudno, via Betws y Coed, where you have some time to take a stroll around, and visit the retail area, and coffee shop. Before we take a scenic tour to Llandudno where you will have time to relax before dinner this evening.

DAY TWO – Llandudno

Today you have a day at leisure in Llandudno. We have included a City Sightseeing ticket for you for today so you can enjoy a trip to the open top bus service around Llandudno & Conwy.

DAY THREE - Conwy and Conwy Castle

Today our guide will take us around Conwy as we explore the walled town on foot before heading into the Castle. Thanks to the restored spiral staircases in its great towers, you can walk a complete circuit around the battlements of Conwy Castle. We highly recommend it. This is one of the most magnificent medieval fortresses in Europe.

Returning to Llandudno this afternoon there’s time to relax before dinner this evening.

DAY FOUR – Caernarfon, Anglesey and Puffin Island

Today we travel first to Caernarfon, dominated by one of the most impressive castles in Wales. The huge castle, with its unusual octagon towers, was the largest of many built by Edward I at the end of the 13th century.

This afternoon we board the all-weather cruiser to Puffin Island – home to many species of birds and wildlife. The 1½ hour cruise, with live commentary, takes you right round the island with regular sightings of puffins, grey seals, and dolphins.

DAY FIVE – Beaumaris and Plas Newydd House & Garden

We then head over the Menai Straits today and on to the Isle of Anglesey, where we have a little time in picturesque Beaumaris. The castle is an unfinished masterpiece, built in 1295.

We also visit Plas Newydd House & Garden, a Grade-1 listed house, on the banks of the Menai Strait. Discover the early history of William Paget, Secretary of State to Henry VIII, and the bravery of the first Marquess of Anglesey who famously lost a leg in the Battle of Waterloo. Learn about the 5th Marquess and the extravagant lifestyle that led to the 40-day sale and the 6th Marquess’s family making Plas Newydd their family home. Explore the combined history of military, theatre, and art, enjoy the tranquil landscape and woodlands, and enjoy the Old Dairy Café.

DAY SIX – Bodnant Gardens

Today we visit Bodnant Gardens, where you have time to explore this stunning Grade I historic garden, formal garden, meadows, arboretum, and garden architecture, as well as enjoying the tea rooms, and craft/gift shops.  A lovely way to spend the day before returning to our hotel later this afternoon.

DAY SEVEN – Llandudno

A day at leisure in Llandudno, why not walk to the end of the pier, or take a stroll along the promenade. Or simply relax in the hotel and watch the world go by.

DAY EIGHT – Tweedmill and Departure

After a leisurely breakfast we depart Llandudno and make our journey home, with a stop along the way to visit Tweedmill Shopping Outlet.
