Shrewsbury Prison is renowned as One of The Most Haunted Prisons In The World! Join our Ghost Tour to uncover what lurks behind the imposing prison walls.
Arriving at the prison
Starting at the Georgian gate lodge, your expert guide will transport you back to 1793 to the days of public executions, which took place on the very same gate lodge. You’ll discover the treatment of prisoners and, of course, the ghostly encounters that have occurred over the past 200 years.
Your guide will lead you to C Wing, rumoured to be the most haunted part of the prison. Here, you’ll hear the stories of the ‘Grey Lady’ who walks the landings at night and the little Georgian child who appears on the steps of the wing.
Hear the chilling stories
Heading over to A Wing, you’ll follow in the footsteps of ‘Shadow Man’, Shrewsbury Prison’s most seen spirit. Often spotted walking the landings, you’ll hear about his story and the numerous documented sightings of him. Are you brave enough to spend some time alone in a cell?
What will you see?
Before being released for the night, your penultimate stop is outside the Governor’s office. Here, you’ll hear about the encounter a member of the Holby City production team had with the Governor’s wife, who died 200 years ago!
This Ghost Tours promises to deliver a hair-raising adventure, mixing heritage, true stories and real encounters with the haunted Prison.
After our tour we will have a sandwich buffet before our journey home.
Tip: Please dress warmly, bring a small torch and someone’s hand to hold… As a Victorian prison the prison isn’t 100% accessible for those with wheelchairs or mobility issues and there are stairs between the landings to manage

YOUR ITINERARY
We depart from your selected pick-up point and travel to Shrewsbury and our exclusive Ghost Tour of Shrewsbury Prison.
Arriving at 6pm for our greeting and introduction we will then experience the Ghost Tour, which will last 1hr and 30 minutes, before our evening sandwich buffet, and then departure at approx. 9pm. To return home.
