HOLIDAY HIGHLIGHTS

Malvern   |   Morgan Motor Company   |   Museum of Royal Worcester   |   Ralph Court Gardens   |   Hereford

DAY ONE – Arrival

We depart from your home and travel to Malvern, time to relax before dinner this evening.

DAY TWO – Ralph Court Gardens

Our day begins; we make our way to Ralph Court Gardens, with Crafted to reflect their love of the arts, mythology and culture, owners Stephen and Paula have designed a set of fourteen quirky themed gardens. After an introductory talk, venture around the world and into distinct fantastical lands complete with water features and sound effects. Then delve into a delightful cream tea, served with homemade strawberry jam, Cornish clotted cream and a pot of 'Phileas Fogg' breakfast tea. Late afternoon we return to the hotel.

DAY THREE – Morgan Motor Company and Hereford

Today we embark on a factory tour of the Morgan Motor Company, the oldest privately owned car manufacturer in the world. Experience their unconventionality first hand, walking the production line within meters of the vehicles being handcrafted. Learn the story and heritage of the company before immersing yourself in the mix of rare craft skills and latest modern technology that goes into each Morgan sports car, meeting the craftsmen who continue to hand build these head-turning cars after 110 years.

Our route takes in delightful cottages, inns, shops in timber framed hamlets including Eardisland, Pembridge, Eardisley and Weobley. This brings us to Hereford in time for lunch and the afternoon is free to explore. Hereford Cathedral is home to the rare Mappa Mundi and well worth a visit. Later we return to Malvern.

DAY FOUR – Museum of Royal Worcester

This morning we head for the City of Worcester. Hear the extraordinary stories of Britain’s most famous porcelain during a guided tour of the Museum of Royal Worcester. Granted their royal warrant in 1788, unearth 250 years of ceramic design, skill and innovation in the original factory building, displaying over 8,000 objects including exclusive Royal commissions and some of the earliest porcelain made in England. A porcelain expert will bring unique perspective with a private talk and handcrafting demonstration, followed by tea/coffee and biscuits served on Royal Worcester porcelainware. We return to Malvern for free time before dinner this evening.
