HOLIDAY HIGHLIGHTS

Grantown-on-Spey   |   Grantown Museum   |   Guided Tour

DAY ONE – Arrival

We depart from your home and travel to Scotland where we arrive late afternoon, time to relax before dinner this evening.

DAY TWO – Guided Walk and Afternoon Tea

This morning after breakfast we enjoy a guided 2-hour walking tour of the local area with an expert guide.

We’ll then return to our hotel to relax, before our Afternoon Tea and quiz this afternoon.

DAY THREE – Grantown Museum and After Dinner Speaker

This morning we visit the Grantown Museum, telling the story of the founding of this planned town, bringing the story up to date using modern and traditional display methods, and is a source of great pride to the people of Grantown.

Grantown Museum houses the archive of the Grantown Society. It provides research facilities for genealogy and local history. Grantown is the traditional home of the Clan Grant and the museum receives frequent visits and enquiries from Grants across the world. Temporary exhibitions of art, crafts and photography are also a regular feature.

We return to our hotel to relax this afternoon, and then enjoy dinner and after dinner speaker/storyteller this evening.

DAY FOUR – Spey Bank Studio and Aviemore

This morning we take a scenic tour around the Cairngorms National Park, stopping along the way at the Spey Valley Shopping Centre, where you’ll find all-in-one shopping and a café.

This afternoon we visit Spey Bank Studio. A place for the creative arts to thrive in the Cairngorms National Park.

Spey Bank Studio is new to Grantown-on-Spey! The recently renovated former Bank of Scotland branch is now home to a carefully curated art gallery, flexible workshop space, an artist’s studio, and a pottery. It showcases a diverse range of art, with a predominant focus on Scottish artists, particularly those from the Cairngorms National Park - from painters and photographers to sculptors and more.

This evening, we have a Gala Dinner, with a piper.
