Welcome to Hay-on-Wye. World renowned for books and bookshops. Its unique position on the border between England and Wales makes Hay ideal for you to explore. In the centre of Hay every Thursday, about 40 traders bring the best local produce, street food, crafts and flea to the streets of Hay.
Hay Market Day - Hereford
We depart from your selected pick-up point and travel south. The market is held throughout town, with traders in Memorial Square, the Cheese Market Hall, Butter Market Hall and around the Clock Tower. We arrive around 11am and spend a couple of hours here pursuing the stalls. We then move on to Hereford, famous for its wonderful Cathedral. The Cathedral has the largest library of chained books in the world, its most famous treasure being the Mappa Mundi, a medieval map of the world created around 1300. Hereford is also famous for its cider and mouth-watering Hereford beef. The town holds a produce and craft market every Thursday.
With so much to see and do we will leave at approx. 4.30pm.
