The Royal family have strong connections to Scotland and this tour traces their footsteps as we visit Glamis Castle, the Royal Yacht Britannia, and the Palace of Holyroodhouse, where we also enjoy a sumptuous afternoon tea.

We depart from your home and travel north to Scotland with comfort stops en route.
Today, we enjoy a guided tour of Glamis Castle, renowned for being Scotlands most beautiful castle. We learn about the castle which is famous for being the legendary setting of Shakespeares Macbeth, the childhood home of HM Queen Elizabeth, The Queen Mother and the birthplace of Princess Margaret. In the afternoon, we have free time for lunch in Dundee, perhaps visiting the impressive V&A Museum of Design before we visit Discovery Point and explore Captain Scotts ship, Discovery, which he sailed to Antarctica.
This morning, we make our way to South Queensferry, from where we embark on 90 minute Three Bridges circular cruise of the Firth of Forth. We enjoy magnificent views of the three bridges including the world-famous Forth Railway Bridge, the Edinburgh skyline to the south and Fife to the north. We then visit the Falkirk Wheel for our included tour soaring 35 meters into the air on the worlds only rotating boat lift.
This morning, we visit Edinburgh and visit the Royal Yacht Britannia, this was queen Elizabeth II former floating royal residence for more than 40 years. We explore her five decks and discover where kings and queens, world leaders and celebrities were wined and dined. In the afternoon, we visit the Palace of Holyroodhouse, the Kings official Scottish residence, where we explore the grand rooms and enjoy a delicious Afternoon Tea in the historic setting of the Mews Courtyard.
After breakfast we depart our hotel and make our journey home with comfort stops en route.

Located on the outskirts of Dunfermline, this friendly hotel is situated in a quiet location within 3 acres of wooded and landscaped grounds. All 53 comfortable bedrooms contain a TV, hairdryer and tea/coffee making facilities. There is a restaurant, two bars and an informal lounge bar with comfortable seating plus an outside terrace which looks onto the hotel's beautiful gardens. There is no lift, but ground floor rooms are available.
