Join us on a delightful day excursion to the beautiful spa town of Harrogate.

Spring is in the air, and right in the heart of Harrogate, the gardens are like a floral hug. As you stroll through Valley Gardens, English-Heritage listed grounds, you’ll spot spring bulbs popping up from the beds.  Keep an eye out for cherry trees in full bloom over the Japanese Garden.  It is a serene escape within reach of town centre shops and cafes, what a delightful way to spend a day!  You can also enjoy the shopping in Harrogate, the definitive boutique spa town in the heart of Yorkshire with its thriving streets buzzing with busy Harrogate shops and eateries.

Born through a boom in Spa tourism during the Victorian 1800s Harrogate quickly developed a reputation for luxurious getaways for body and soul. The high society of the Victorian Britain flocked to Harrogate to enjoy the air, the space and the therapeutic spa treatments as well as taking the famous Harrogate waters.

This reputation continues to be well deserved. Modern day Harrogate is the go-to destination for relaxation and indulgence, synonymous with strolling through the gardens, quality shopping and taking a delicious afternoon tea.

YOUR ITINERARY

We’ll pick you up from your selected pick-up point and travel to the delightful spa town of Harrogate, arriving around 11:00- 11.30hrs.

Start your day by soaking up Harrogate’s rich history. You could visit the Royal Pump Room Museum, where you can learn about the town’s fascinating Victorian spa history and see the famous sulphur springs that once attracted visitors from across the country.

If you enjoy art and culture, take a gentle stroll to Mercer Art Gallery, home to beautiful exhibitions showcasing stunning works that reflect Harrogate’s artistic heritage.

What’s a visit to Harrogate without stopping at Bettys Tea Room? This world-famous tearoom has been serving treats since 1919. Indulge in delicious freshly baked scones, handmade cakes, or a proper cup of Yorkshire Tea. Don’t forget to look around their charming shop, filled with irresistible goodies to take home.

Top Tip: Bettys can get busy, so it’s worth arriving early to secure a table!

If you’re in the mood for a peaceful walk, head over to Valley Gardens, a stunning park located in the heart of Harrogate. Even in February, the gardens hold a serene beauty, perfect for unwinding before heading back to the coach. Take in the fresh air and admire the winter blooms dotted around this historic park.

Before you leave at approx. 16:30hrs, treat yourself to some locally-made chocolates or traditional Yorkshire fudge from one of Harrogate’s delightful sweet shops. They’re the perfect keepsake to remember your trip by (if they last that long!).
