DAY ONE – Lichfield and Arrival

We depart from your home and travel to Lichfield, before we make our way to our hotel, arriving late afternoon you should have time to relax before dinner this evening.

 

DAY TWO – Sudeley Castle & Gardens and Cheltenham

This morning, we visit the fantastic Sudeley Castle & Gardens, located in the heart of the Cotswolds. The castle exhibits of fascinating treasures - from ancient Roman times to the present day.

 

Outside, the castle is surrounded by a breathtaking 1,200-acre estate and ten awardwinning gardens. The centrepiece is the Queen’s Garden - a must-see on this excursion.

This afternoon, we visit the spa town of Cheltenham - located just outside of the Cotswolds. Walk down the promenade - considered one of the most beautiful in the country with its tree-lined avenue flanked by smart shops and cafés.

 

DAY THREE – Hidcote Manor Garden and Stratford-upon-Avon

After breakfast, we head for Hidcote Manor Garden, an Arts and Crafts garden in the north Cotswolds, just a stone’s throw from Stratford-upon-Avon. Explore the maze of narrow paved pathways and discover secret gardens, magnificent vistas, and plants that burst with colour.

 

Later this afternoon we travel to Stratford-upon-Avon, the birthplace of Shakespeare. We have plenty of time to wander the streets looking for a bargain in an independent store or maybe visit Shakespeare’s birthplace to learn more about the man himself.

 

DAY FOUR – Painswick Rococo Garden and Gloucester

Painswick Rococo Garden is the only surviving garden of the Rococo period open to the public. Instead of an orderly flower garden, this is a haven of peace and tranquillity to explore, with quirky features sprinkled around to tickle your fancy.

 

Gloucester is next this afternoon, where we can enjoy the afternoon amongst the pretty cityscapes. Perhaps visit the quayside, dockyards, and museums, maybe enjoy lunch in the town, or visit the high street for some retail therapy.

 

DAY FIVE – British Ironworks Centre and Departure

After breakfast this morning we leave our hotel and first make our way to the British Ironworks Centre, where you have time for a browse and an explore, and lunch before we continue our journey home.
