We depart from your home for your journey to Cornwall, arriving at your hotel late afternoon, time to relax before dinner.
This morning we drive to St Erth to board our regular train for a journey along the
beautiful coastline past Carbis Bay to the very heart of St Ives. We have time here to
explore this famous resort before returning to our hotel in the late afternoon by coach.
This morning, we make our way to the market town city of Truro, where we can enjoy a stroll before exploring the towns attractions, including the stunning Gothic Revival Cathedral. After lunch, we head to the amazing Lost Gardens of Heligan where you will be welcomed by a member of the team and escorted to the gardens. On Floras Green there will be an introduction to the history of the Heligan Estate along with the magnificent success story of its restoration. We then enjoy a cream tea before time at leisure to explore over 200 acres of garden paradise and enjoy the breathtaking surroundings, including the spectacular jungle! En route back to our hotel we enjoy a photo-stop at picturesque Charlestown and its Grade II Listed Georgian harbour and tall ships, famous for featuring in many TV programmes and films.
After breakfast, we make our way to Padstow, where we spend time at leisure exploring this charming fishing port and famous foodie destination thanks to its reputation for fabulous seafood restaurants and links to the celebrity chef Rick Stein. You will also have entrance to The National Lobster Hatchery included where you will experience pioneering marine conservation in action by the beautiful estuary in Padstow. It is one of the only conservation projects open to the public worldwide. The Visitor Centre allows you to get up close and personal with rarely seen lobster babies, pregnant lobster mamas, giant lobsters and other weird and wonderful coastal creatures.
In the afternoon, we travel to Healeys Cornish Cyder Farm for a 60-minute guided tour and tasting of this excellent traditional brewery.
We also visit Prideaux Place, a magnificent Elizabethan manor house perched above Padstows busy harbour. We enjoy a guided tour of the house and its rooms, which are in constant use by the family, before exploring the beautiful gardens at leisure and enjoying the views
After breakfast this morning we leave our hotel and make our journey home with comfort stops en route.
