HOLIDAY HIGHLIGHTS

Belfast Guided Step on Tour   |   Titanic Belfast   |   Giants Causeway   |   Hillsborough Castle

DAY ONE – Arrival

We depart from your home and travel to Holyhead and join our ferry to Dublin. On arrival in Dublin we continue to our hotel in Belfast.

DAY TWO – Belfast Guided City Tour and Titanic Belfast

Northern Ireland’s capital Belfast has become increasingly popular as a destination, and we begin today with a step on guided tour through the city’s four ‘quarters’, taking in the many highlights including City Hall, Queens University, the Opera House and the Botanic Gardens. This afternoon we enjoy a visit to Titanic Belfast, located beside the Titanic Slipways, the Harland & Wolff Drawing Offices and Hamilton Graving Dock – the very place where Titanic was designed, built and launched, Titanic Belfast tells the story of Titanic from her conception, through her construction and launch, to her maiden voyage and subsequent place in history.

DAY THREE – Giants Causeway Visitor Experience

Today we take in one of the most remarkable ocean drives; the Antrim Coast Road with its unspoilt views of the Irish Sea and Glens of Antrim.  We arrive at the Giant’s Causeway, a UNESCO World Heritage Site famous for its unique volcanic stone pillars and shrouded in folklore and fairy tales. Please note there is a Translink minibus operating from the visitor centre to the causeway if needed, this costs 1 Euro each way.

DAY FOUR – Hillsborough Castle Guided Tour

This morning we visit Hillsborough Castle which has been a grand family home and is now the official home of the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, and a royal residence. Members of the Royal Family stay at Hillsborough when visiting Northern Ireland.  Viewed by some as a politically neutral venue, Hillsborough has played an important role in the Peace Process in Northern Ireland since the 1980s. In 2014, Historic Royal Palaces took over the running of Hillsborough Castle and Gardens and began an ambitious project to restore the house and gardens to its former glory. Whilst here we enjoy tea and scones.

DAY FIVE – Departure

After breakfast we leave our hotel and make our journey back to Dublin and our ferry and onward journey home.
