We depart from your home and travel to Ayrshire and our overnight hotel, we have time to relax before dinner this evening.

DAY TWO – Isle of Skye

This morning after breakfast we travel to the Isle of Skye, and our hotel where we will stay for 2 nights.

DAY THREE – Isle of Skye Seaprobe Atlantis Glass Bottom Boat

Today we explore above and below the waves on Scotland's unique Semi-Submersible Glass Bottom boat.

On this trip we visit the seal colony on Seal Island, look out for otters and other wildlife as we cruise out under the Skye Bridge to see the Spectacular Scenery of Skye, her offshore islands and Wester Ross.

We explore the beautiful underwater kelp forests which surround the coast of Skye - and which are home to a rich variety of marine life, including fish, jellyfish, starfish, crabs, urchins, and anemones.

DAY FOUR – Isle of Bute

Today we hop on the ferry from Colintraive to Rhubodach, to the Isle of Bute. Our hotel accommodation on Bute for the next two nights is in Rothesay.  We settle into our hotel and relax before dinner this evening.

DAY FIVE – Mount Stuart House & Gardens

Today we visit Mount Stuart House & Gardens, a remarkable architectural feat.

Mount Stuart’s architectural journey is a story. The original house was built in 1719 but was severely damaged by fire in 1877. Most of the contents survived, along with the wings of the building. These were incorporated into the house you see today, which was built in the late 19th century. The Georgian architecture of the wings presents a striking contrast to the otherwise Victorian design, providing a completely unique architectural blend. Taking a moment to absorb the sheer beauty of the building is an unforgettable part of the Mount Stuart experience. And that’s before you’ve stepped through the door.

Inside, design inspired by astrology, art and mythology dazzles. See a map of the stars on the ceiling of the Marble Hall. Take the spiral staircase to what is believed to be the world’s first domestic heated swimming pool. This house is filled with innovations – from an early telephone system to our Victorian passenger lift.  There’s so much to discover. Inside and out.

The gardens are set against a striking Firth of Clyde backdrop, our 300 acres of gardens boast arboriculture and horticultural collections of global significance.

Visit the rock garden, designed by the famous Victorian landscape architect Thomas Mawson. Explore the arboretum, with trees dating back to the estate’s early days. And don’t miss the pinetums – home to more than 800 towering conifers.

DAY SIX – Departure

After breakfast this morning we leave our hotel and make our journey home, firstly crossing by ferry from Rothesay to Wemyss Bay before we make our journey south with comfort stops en route.
