This lovely holiday includes the Bure Valley Railway, Norfolk's longest narrow gauge railway, through the pretty countryside from Aylsham to Wroxham the "Capital of the Broads". We include free time in Wroxham before our afternoon and we complete holiday with the Mississippi Paddle Boat.

DAY ONE – Arrival

We depart from your home and travel to Norfolk arriving late afternoon you will have time to relax before dinner this evening.

 

DAY TWO – Bure Valley Railway and Southern Comfort Paddle Steamer

Today we experience a nostalgic trip on the heritage Bure Valley Railway, Norfolk’s longest narrow-gauge railway, from Aylsham to Wroxham, meandering through the pretty Bure Valley countryside. We have some free time in Wroxham before we travel by coach to the picturesque village of Horning. Here we embark on a memorable cruise along the Norfolk Broads on the Mississippi Paddle Steamer, passing lovely, thatched cottages, windmills, ancient churches and reed beds while spotting some of the area’s unique wildlife along the way.

 

DAY THREE – Norwich

Today we visit Norwich. This great city has a lot of hidden gems and is a delight to explore at your leisure.

 

DAY FOUR – Mid Norfolk Railway

This morning we travel to Wymondham and join the Mid Norfolk Railway in the heart of Norfolk for a wonderful journey, in nostalgic surroundings. 

 

The Mid-Norfolk Railway is the longest standard-gauge heritage railway in East Anglia and runs through the Heart of Norfolk. The railway has its headquarters in Dereham and runs south to Wymondham Abbey Halt station. The Mid-Norfolk Railway is owned and run by the registered charity, The Mid-Norfolk Railway Preservation Trust. The Trust is owned by the railway’s members, some of whom volunteer their time and varied skills to the railway.

 

DAY FIVE – Departure

After breakfast this morning we leave our hotel and make our journey home with comfort stops en route.
