DAY ONE – Arrival

We depart from your home and travel to Holyhead and join our ferry to Dublin. On arrival in Dublin we continue to our hotel in Dunadry.

 

DAY TWO – Glenarm Castle’s Walled Garden and Ballymena

This morning we head up through the Glens of Antrim to visit the delightful Walled Gardens at Glenarm Castle. Originally designed to supply produce for the castle table, the garden is now filled with exciting flowers and specimen plants adding great colour to this charming setting.

 

After our visit we will stop at Ballymena, a historic town, we spend a little while here before we return to our hotel. 

 

DAY THREE – Sightseeing and Dark Hedges

Today we will enjoy a sightseeing tour of Northern Ireland’s Antrim Coast, as well as the famous Dark hedges - a rural road, it is famous for the location of the American drama "Game of Thrones".

 

DAY FOUR – Hillsborough Castle

After breakfast we have a rare treat today with a visit to the King’s official residence in Northern Ireland, Hillsborough Castle. After a guided tour of this elegant mansion, tea & scones will be served, before time to enjoy the stunning gardens and grounds or explore Hillsborough town itself with its Georgian architecture. We then head south into the Ards Peninsula where winding roads and white cottages create a landscape in miniature, before continuing to Portaferry, a little fishing village at the tip of the peninsula, opening to Strangford Lough. We visit the dedicated visitors’ centre reflecting the life of Irelands patron saint, with his grave reputed to be in the ground of the adjoining Cathedral.

 

 

DAY FIVE – Departure

After breakfast this morning we leave our hotel and make our journey home with comfort stops en route.
