Athelhampton House & Gardens private Guided Tour | Exbury Gardens with Steam Railway | Beaulieu | Poole Harbour Islands Cruise | Fish & Chip Lunch
Join us on a journey to the stunning South Coast of England. Departing from your home, we'll whisk you away for an unforgettable experience. Arriving in the late afternoon, you'll have plenty of time to unwind before dinner tonight.
Today we unveil 500 years of captivating tales during a private guided tour at Athelhampton House.
Marvel at original hammer-beam roofs, finely furnished rooms and chart the evolution from Tudor manor to Edwardian family home. Meander through the meticulously crafted, award-winning and Grade 1 listed gardens, including 12 world-famous topiary yew pyramids, quaint ponds and playful fountains. Hear stories of the many eccentric occupants and unravel the captivating narrative of this remarkable treasure trove.
This morning takes us to a splendid hidden beauty, Exbury Gardens. You can escape the cares of the world as you explore a myriad of pathways lined with rare trees and shrubs at your own pace. Now celebrating more than 100 years, unearth a spectacular collection of woodland, herbaceous, contemporary, formal and wildflower gardens. At over 200 acres, these impressive gardens, created and managed by the Rothschild family, border the Beaulieu River and boast a narrow-gauge steam railway which you can hop on and hop off as you would like throughout your visit.
We then visit the remarkable village of Beaulieu, home to 8 distinct experiences - step into the National Motor Museum, home to a remarkable collection of 250 vintage vehicles. Wander through the atmospheric ruins of the village Abbey, tracing its medieval heritage. Uncover The World of Top Gear, a Secret Army Exhibition, a monorail, and veteran bus.
Traverse the opulent halls of Palace House, home of the Montagues since 1538 and one of the first historic houses opened to the public. Meander through the meticulously manicured gardens, where fragrant blooms and serene vistas provide a tranquil backdrop.
Drink in the spectacular views as today you cruise through one of the worlds largest natural harbours and along the start of the Jurassic Heritage Coast. Pass by Brownsea Island, Sandbanks Peninsula and Studland Bay, each brought to life with entertaining live commentary from your Sea Captain.
Feel the refreshing sea breeze from the open deck or relax in the lower saloon, with booth seating and a fully licensed bar. Tuck into a fish and chips lunch onboard, the nations favourite dish and best enjoyed with a view of the sea. Please note: This cruise does not stop at Brownsea Island.
Start your day right with breakfast before embarking on a comfortable journey back home with comfort stops en route.
