Marching bands and military demonstrations against the backdrop of floodlight Edinburgh Castle makes this Tattoo an exciting spectacle. A fabulous display of Marchers, Dancers and Bandsmen, entertain the crowd from the moment 'the Voice of the Castle' brings the audience together. You will be amazed and enthralled right through to the Grand Finale and the Lone Piper bringing the evening to an end.

DAY ONE – Arrival

We depart from your home and travel to Peebles late afternoon you will have time to relax before dinner this evening.

 

DAY TWO – Stirling and the Kelpies

This morning we travel to the City of Stirling with its famous castle and interesting ranges of shops, cafes and pubs for you to explore at leisure.  In the afternoon we visit the Kelpies to marvel at the largest equine sculptures in the world, standing at 100ft tall.  Before we return to the hotel to relax before dinner.

 

DAY THREE – Edinburgh and Edinburgh Tattoo

After breakfast this morning we drive to the city of Edinburgh. The day is free to explore the capital city of Scotland. The city is dominated by the magnificent Edinburgh Castle, an ancient fortress built on a volcanic crag. It is the most visited attraction in Scotland. Attractions include the gardens on Princes Street, the Old Town, the Royal Mile leading to Holyrood House and much more. The hotel has provided a packed lunch for us to enjoy.

 

Dinner is not included tonight, so maybe take and an early dinner in the city before taking your seats at the Internationally renowned Edinburgh Tattoo. Expect anything and everything - from Highland dancers, fiddle players and steel bands, to martial art performers and daredevil motorbike acrobatic displays. Not forgetting a grand finale featuring rendition of Auld Lang Syne and spectacular fireworks display. It’s a stunning event that gets bigger and better every year!

 

DAY FOUR – Melrose and Peebles

After breakfast this morning we drive to the picturesque town of Melrose where we have the rest of the day to explore and enjoy the scenery. Perhaps visit Melrose Abbey, one of the town’s gardens or museums.

On the afternoon we return to the pretty town of Peebles. Where your free to explore. Perhaps enjoying a wander along the high street for some retail therapy, or maybe the Tweeddale Museum and Gallery.

 

DAY FIVE – Departure

After breakfast we leave our hotel and make our journey home with comfort stops en route.

Our hotel for this tour is the Peebles Hydro Hotel. Built in 1878 as a health Spa, the original building was destroyed by fire and subsequently rebuilt in 1907. Today the hotel is part of the Crieff Hydro Group and offers excellent facilities including swimming pool, restaurant and all the modern-day luxuries you would expect from a hotel of this standard.
