But Babbacombe is just one of many beautiful places you can discover in this region. We'll take you beyond Babbacombe to explore more of what South Devon has to offer. From stunning coastlines to historic landmarks and picturesque villages, there's something for everyone to enjoy.

DAY ONE – Arrival

We depart from your home and travel south to The English Riviera with comfort stops en route. The Babbacombe Hotel enjoys stunning views across Lyme Bay.

 

DAY TWO – Sidmouth and Exmouth

Today we travel to Sidmouth along the coast.  Explore the little streets, museum, and the sea front, or just sit back and relax and watch the world go by. After lunch we’ll visit Exmouth, a lively town, situated on the east coast of Devon where the River Exe meets the sea. 

 

DAY THREE – Babbacombe

A day at leisure in Babbacombe, you could visit the model village, or maybe take the cliff railway to Oddicombe Beach. Or maybe simply relax in the hotel and enjoy the views over the bay. This evening you may like to visit the theatre, within walking distance of the hotel, tickets for shows will be on sale at the hotel through a theatre representative should you wish to attend.

 

DAY FOUR – Buckfast Abbey and Okenhampton

A full day excursion taking in Buckfast Abbey, there will be time to look around the Abbey and its delightful gardens before continuing onto Okenhampton, a bustling market town on the very edge of Dartmoor National Park.

 

Spend some time here in the town or maybe take a stroll through Simmons Park, situated at the south of Okehampton town centre, which runs alongside the East Okement River. There are some interesting historical memorials, including a stone plaque to honour Sydney Simmons, the creator of the park which opened to the public in 1907. Walking through the park you will spot quaint wooden bridges, idyllic gardens and waterfalls, huge, towering trees, and an abundance of gorgeous wild flowers.

We’ll later return to our hotel.

 

DAY FIVE - Departure

After breakfast, this morning we leave our hotel and make our journey home with comfort stops en route.

Please note: It is your responsibility to advise us if you have any mobility issues on booking.  The lift in the hotel only services the 1st and 2nd floor, there are then 14 steps to the third floor. Should you wish to pay extra for a twin/double sea view/balcony room (subject to availability), please be aware that these rooms are located above the Show Bar and you will hear music, therefore not suitable for those who retire early.

There are NO SINGLE GROUND FLOOR ROOMS, or Single Sea View Rooms and access to all single rooms is with a minimum of three - maximum of six stairs.  It is imperative that you advise us of any mobility issues on booking, as the hotel will NOT be able to change your room once allocated due to this being a busy hotel.

As part of operational adjustments, rooms will not be serviced on the first full day of your stay. Housekeeping assistance for essentials will remain available if needed

Rooms are allocated on a first come first served basis and are limited. If no single supplement applies this is limited to the tour single room allocation and therefore additional cost may apply.  Prices displayed are per person unless otherwise stated. If door-to-door pick-up is included there may be additional charges for out of area. Itineraries and hotel inclusions may be subject to change. Covid-19 restrictions may apply.
