From £40 inc guided tour
The Pendle Witch Experience Tour not only tells the story of the Pendle Witches, but also our guide will take us around all the beautiful countryside on both sides of the Pendle Hill. The countryside has changed little since the 1600s, this atmospheric landscape will take your breath away.
We include manor houses, battlegrounds, abbeys, ancient churches, witches graves and stories of the famous men and women who lived there, including the local man who invented time as we know it.
See for yourself what Queen Mary in the early part of the 20th century called the finest view from a church porch in England.
We will visit the village of Roughlee which contains a statue to Dame Alice Nutter who was the only educated woman hung as a witch. The prosecutor in her trial wanted her land but did not get it in the end as her sons inherited it. We also visit quite possibly, the prettiest village in Lancashire which is owned by one man including the church, all the houses and the pub have been owned by the same family since the 1500s. Well make plenty of stops for photographs, and there will also be refreshment opportunities.
The Pendle Witch Experience Tour
We depart from your selected pick-up point and travel north to Pendle Village Mill arriving at 11am where there is opportunity to refreshments before we start our witchy guided step on coach tour.
We enjoy our 3-hour guided tour before returning to our starting point and then make our journey home at approx. 4pm.
