Join us on this tour, we have time to explore our Exeter base and its Cathedral. We visit Exmouth and enjoy a boat cruise with cream tea along the Jurassic Coast. We also head into Cornwall to enjoy the immersive experience at Bodmin Jail Attraction followed by a visit to the Jamaican Inn to learn about Devon’s smuggling past.

DAY ONE – Arrival

We depart from your home and travel to Exeter arriving late afternoon you will have time to relax before dinner this evening.

 

DAY TWO – Bodmin Jail

This morning After breakfast, we head south-west to the Bodmin Jail Attraction incorporating the ‘Dark Walk’ experience. Featuring the latest technology and theatrical effects, visitors can immerse themselves in life within the prison walls and the local regions. You have time for lunch in the bistro before we head on to Jamaican Inn near Launceston. The pub is famously featured in the Daphne Du Maurier book, and you’ll find a museum filled with smuggling artifacts collected over many years. 

 

DAY THREE – Exeter and Exeter Cathedral

This morning we head to Exeter Cathedral for a guided tour. Discover the history of this magnificent example of Gothic architecture and hear the stories of the people who have lived and worshipped here for nearly a thousand years.  Following our visit, you have the afternoon to explore Exeter at your leisure. Visit the Royal Albert Memorial Museum and Art Gallery, explore Exeter’s Underground Passages, or wander down to the Historic Quayside with its fascinating history, interesting architecture, lively events and waterside pubs, restaurants, and cafes. The choice is yours.

 

DAY FOUR – Exmouth and Jurassic Coast Cruise

Today we head for Exmouth where we board Stuart Line Cruises for a boat trip along the Jurassic Coast enjoying a cream tea on board. The live commentary throughout the cruise from your skipper covers the changing history and appearance of the area and the wildlife and towns we pass along the way. On our return to Exmouth, you have some free time to explore the town. Perhaps take a stroll along The Esplanade or just relax with a drink and enjoy the sea air before we head back to the hotel.

 

DAY FIVE – Departure

After breakfast this morning we leave our hotel and make our journey home with comfort stops en route.
