Cornwall | Eden Project | Saltram House & Garden | Dartmouth Steam Railway Christmas Train of Lights
We depart from your home and travel to Plymouth for our Crimbo Combo holiday this festive season. Arriving late afternoon, you will have time to relax before dinner this evening.
We visit the world-famous Eden Project, a unique regeneration project that has transformed a scar into a global garden featuring two enormous Biomes. Theres plenty to see here, and we enjoy the day to visit and explore.
Today you have the day at leisure to explore Plymouth and all it has to offer.
This morning we visit Saltram House overlooking the River Plym and set in a rolling 18th-century landscape, the house is full of treasures, stories and intrigue to discover. Complete with 18th-century sweeping lawns, an ancient lime tree avenue, exotic planting and garden follies, the garden offers layers of history, planting, and tranquillity to be explored.
We return to the hotel for a three-course lunch (this is instead of dinner tonight) due to our late afternoon/evening excursion.
Late afternoon we then have a wonderful treat as we join the festive illuminated Christmas Train of Lights in Paignton, where our journey begins at Queens Park Station, Paignton.
We return to our hotel after a wonderful evening.
After breakfast this morning we leave our hotel and make our journey home with comfort stops en route.

The Duke of Cornwall Hotel is a defining figure in Plymouths past and its present. A landmark hotel built in 1863, the Duke has endured at the heart of this maritime city for over a century and a half since. Surviving two World Wars and radical changes in its surrounding environment, the hotel stands as a strong and steadfast connection to days gone by. Its splendid Victorian gothic architecture drew admiration then and makes even more of a statement in the contemporary cityscape.
