A stroll around a country garden or parkland in Autumn will envelope you in a hue of Autumn gold. On our holiday, we include visits to two of the regions RHS gardens as well as a guided tour of the historic medieval village of Lavenham.

DAY ONE – Arrival

We depart from your home and travel to Suffolk arriving late afternoon you will have time to relax before dinner this evening.

 

DAY TWO – Green Island Gardens

Today we visit head for Green Island Gardens a 20-acre private garden. Professionally designed by its owner Fiona Edmond, the land is laid out as a series of structured gardens displaying a huge range of unusual trees, shrubs, perennials, and bulbs - 'A Plantsman's Paradise'. Green Island Gardens has been honoured with becoming a RHS partner garden in 2023.

 

DAY THREE – Lavenham

Take a step back in time as you explore beautiful Lavenham today. Nestled in the heart of the Suffolk countryside and surrounded by ancient woodlands and rolling countryside, Lavenham is one of the most important and best-preserved Medieval villages in England. We have included a guided tour today, and you will explore the tiny streets lined with timber-framed buildings, and an expansive market square surrounded by iconic Medieval and Tudor halls. Theres also a thriving community with independent shops, cafés and restaurants with plenty to see and do.

 

DAY FOUR – RHS Garden Hyde Hall

Today we visit RHS Garden Hyde Hall. Often a surprise for visitors to Essex, its extraordinary evolution is set in a landscape of rolling hills and with beautiful panoramic views. Since its inception in the mid-1950s, this vast garden has been established from a handful of trees atop a windy hill to a jewel in the landscape that embraces superb ornamental horticulture, wild woodlands, majestic meadows, and stylish gardens that embrace new ways of thinking about our world and our future. From global produce to dry climates, winter wonders, courtyard gardens and arboreta, Hyde Hall delivers something for everyone.

 

DAY FIVE – Departure

After breakfast this morning we leave our hotel and make our journey home with comfort stops en route.
